I started weight training as a client at Fitness Ablaze after having my 4th baby. Keeping up with my kids and doing the physically demanding activities I used to enjoy was a struggle. Sticking with an exercise program and seeing results wasn’t happening. The coaches at Fitness Ablaze kept me accountable and on track and led me to discover the best version of myself, physically and mentally. Eventually I developed my own curiosity about fitness training. When people around me began asking for guidance I realized I loved helping others achieve their fitness goals and decided to become a Certified Personal Training through ACE. I’ve been a trainer at Fitness Ablaze since.
Certified through Oh Baby! Fitness and NETA’s Senior Fitness certification, I frequently work with clients seeking pregnancy and postpartum fitness instruction, including core and pelvic floor rehab, and seniors seeking to improve quality of life following major physical setbacks.
CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
I was an athlete growing up. I became interested in sports performance (strength and conditioning programs) to better enhance my athletic ability in 8th grade (mainly db curls at that point haha). I learned some concepts while in high school weightlifting class and ever since then have been studying fitness, nutrition, and psychology. After injuries derailed my collegiate athletic career i found out about the kinesiology (exercise science) program while attending Western Washington University. I ended up attaining my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Sports Psychology. After declining an offer to join a collegiate sports performance program as a strength and conditioning coach i moved back to the thurston county area and opened fitness ablaze (in my garage) in 2012.
I am a firm believer in the power of human performance for both physical and mental improvements. I believe we all should invest in ourselves through fitness and nutrition. The only results that will come is a more physically fit, mentally fit, and happier version of yourself. It is all about self love. We all deserve it:)
I have over 10 year of experience as a fitness and nutrition coach and continue to improve my craft as a fitness professional through continuing education. I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. Certified Personal Trainer through ACE. Certified Nutrition Coach through Precision Nutrition. I was also co-author of a best selling book and 2014 Americas Premier Experts recipient.
